DescriptionMy first Rogers/Austin Detective page from, unless I'm mistaken, the first full issue they worked together on. It is really nice to own a piece of what I consider to be comic history. Interestingly, after I had learned that Terry Austin had some early Rogers originals that he inked, I called Spencer Beck and asked him to ask Terry Austin whether he would be willing to discuss any of those early Rogers originals. Austin's response - "Not available at any price." I love Terry Austin and he may be the best inker ever (he's definitely is top two or three in the history of comics). Nevertheless, I sat around despondent for a couple of weeks until this popped up and I went for it (thanks to Dan Gallo for making this piece available). While I never met Marshall Rogers, he was one of my favorite artists and I truly am saddened by his loss, my condolences to his family, the comics industry lost a legend.Social/Sharing |

This is the work where I too fell in love with the work of Marshall Rogers and began following his career, which is one wild ride! He will be missed and we can but wonder where else he would have taken us. Thanks for posting!

I am definitely becoming envious now. Not only did you acquire a Rogers/Austin page, but also it is from their first collaboration on Detective. Tremendous!

I have no idea how I'd missed seeing this one ! What a great page by one of the all-time greatest creative teams. Every panel is gold... Having the Calculator as the villain doesn't hurt either ! Thanks for sharing !

They managed to do a very entertaining story with the calculator. For that only, they deserved praise.
