DescriptionSean Dietrich is San Diego's top live painter and has been active in the comic, gaming, and movieindustries for over 17 years now. From his first paying art show at age 6, to the self published 'Tribal Scream' book at age 15, which sold an excess of 400 copies and garnered newspaper and media coverage, to his foray into the gaming industry with his work on the 'Twisted Metal' series for Playstation, Dietrich has pushed the limits of his artistic talents—stopping at nothing to produce some of the hardest hitting and honest art work out there today. A self taught artist with over 60 awards under his belt, Dietrich's art is a treat to anyone seeking a refreshing take on the art world today. Published by Rorschach Ent. for the last 6 years, Dietrich's comics and graphic novels have pushed the limits of what a comic should be. Stories that will take you to a level of intelligence and horror that is lacking in the modern comic world, coupled with amazing black and white artwork that seems to drip off the page—these books are a lesson to most comics out there—a lesson to go home and find a new job. Sean's comics have received rave reviews all over the globe from sites like CBR.com, newsarama.com, comixtreme.com and Ox Fanzine (Europe's largest underground music magazine), and his book 'Mess' is featured at a superhero course at UC Irvine. Dietrich's comic illustrations have also traveled to the realm of children's books, when in 2008 and 2009 he illustrated comic book versions of 'Hansel and Gretel' and 'Sleeping Beauty' for Stone Arch Books. Dietrich's live painting career will reach a milestone New Years Eve 2009—his 10 year anniversary of performing in San Diego. With over 500 shows to his name, and many more new, bigger and exciting shows to come--these live paintings are a site to be seen. Everything from WWII pin up girls, to the most twisted creatures, to powerful statements about the world today, and even some audience participation make these live events a treat for anyone looking for something different and visual amongst the usual nightclub mess.
