Description

WC �Cory� Carani was a long time inker of comics, working for the likes of DC Comics, Marvel, and Wildstorm over the course of about a decade. I knew him best as the then-current inker on DC�s Legionnaires series.

I had met Cory the previous year�s Comicon, and really got the chance to get to know him, both at his table and at the Legion Fan Dinner, which was a great way to eat with and get to know the creators of the comic. I tried to commission a sketch from him at the �97 con, but his list was already too full. I was disappointed, but it wasn�t the end of the world.

I once again attended the Legion Fan Dinner that year, and he sat at the same table as me. I had brought along my sketchbook, and gave it to him to look through it. He then proceeded to do a really quick sketch of his favorite Legionnaire, XS.

You may be thinking this doesn�t look very much like a really quick sketch. That�s true. About a year later I had sent him my sketchbook (see his later entry for more information why) and when he sent it back, he told me he wasn�t happy with the drawing, so he inked it for me in addition to the other he did. He told me that way I have a sample of both his ink and his pencil work.
