"Put me closer."

Few comics have been written and drawn with as much obsessive attention to detail as Fun Home.

On this page, Bechdel explains what the title, "Fun Home," actually means both literally and ironically. That's Bechdel hoovering up the remains of her family life while describing the very texture of the book in the bottom panel; getting closer to someone (her father) in death or maybe getting closer to the essence of death itself.
