Man...ol' horn-head has come a long way in regards to kicking butt. To think this is the same guy who took out 150 ninja's with a Bic pen. BTW....this cover is absolutely, rediculously incredible!

Although Wally Wood did the interiors and is credited with inking this cover, most sources all report Jack Kirby as the penciller to Daredevil #5. As a Kirby fan, that makes this find an even more thrilling one to me! A truly magnificent piece...and one of the few pre-1965 Marvel cvrs. I've ever seen.

A wonderful, early, example. Fascinating to note that the corner box art is all-original. Thanks for sharing this gem . . .

You lucky dog. This is beautiful. Certainly one of the very best covers of the original six issues of yellow. Wow. Yes...I'm jealous! :)

There are days when I think Wood was as good as or even a better inker on Kirby than Sinnott. And yes, this cover is incredible, one of the best.

Eric to say your collection is beautiful is a waste as you know that... we all know that. What should happen is that you and Steve Fishler should get together and open some sort of real life gallery where true fans like us could come to from all around the world to see this stuff in real time, because what you have here transends reality and looking at it online is a crime, a bit like going to a lapdancing club and being told that ..."You can look.. but no touching"

WOW was Kirby a master or what? Having Kirby pencils with Wally's inks makes this such a special piece. Congrats!

Jack Kirby never touched the cover to Daredevil #5. The cover, boldly announcing the arival of famous illustrator Wally Wood, is pure Wood. Kirby expert Mark Evanier is in full agreement on this fact. You can find more details in our discussions on facebook, on both The Wallace Wood Estate page and the Wally Wood's Daredevil group.
