Karate Kid vs. The Thing by Casey Jones

I think the first time that I saw Casey's artwork was in the 90's Quicksilver series, but maybe it was Excalibur. Either way, I liked it and enjoyed seeing his art pop up in books I read through the years. His two-issue stint on Fantastic Four made an impression on me with how well he drew Mr. Benjamin J. Grimm so much that when I was making my Karate Kid opponents list Casey was the first artist I thought of to draw The Thing. And as you can see, Casey delivered. I particularly like Ben's eyebrows and jaw.

This fight would be a slobber-knocker. Val Armorr and Ben Grimm both never give up, and both are great fighters. Val would chip away at Ben for a while, possible wearing him down or actually injuring him, as long as Ben never manages to actually grab him. But if Ben gets a grip on Val then I think the fight will end shortly after as there is no way Val can take the kind of punishment Aunt Petunia's favorite nephew can dish out. Clobberin' time, indeed.

This really is one of the most fun galleries on CAF. While I don't always agree with the projected outcomes, the art is great and the concept is very cool.
