DescriptionWolverine #2 page 11Art by John Buscema & Klaus Janson Written by Chris Claremont Marvel - December 1988 This is a big one for me I picked up earlier this year on ComicLink. Wolverine #2 is one of the first comics I remember seeing behind the counter at my local shop as a kid. The red background and intense face off caught my eye and stuck with me. No Wolvie but a great sequence featuring the Silver Samurai with the Black Blade taking on Spider-Woman from Big John Buscema's acclaimed run bringing Wolverine into a regular monthly series and ultimately a staple in the MCU! I feel lucky to have grabbed this one when I did as these Buscema pages are getting harder and harder to get. Update June 22, 2025: Chris Claremont signed the page at Heroes Con in Charlotte, NC! Beautiful page. Love the action panels of the silver samurai. That issue was very memorable.

I like it! These early issues of Wolverine were solid, and Buscema/Janson is a really good combo.

Buscema battle page! I love how he handled fights. Zooming in on some scenes, like on the sword in panel 5, or showing the crowd reactions in the first panel. You get the whole scene as he moves you around the area, and it lends more gravitas. Awesome page. Big congrats!

Big John and Klaus were firing on all cylinders here. I loves this series and hope to track down a page fro mthe Hulk arc myself. Huge congrats and thanks for sharing George!

Fantastic Buscema page! He was so good on these early Wolverine issues. Love the opening panel with the SIler Samurai toppling down the stairs, followed by the awesome panel of Jessica Drew leaping down the stairs, Black Blade in hand! Buscema was a genius at action scenes! Great-pick-up!
