Description

H C Hannig is a little known editorial cartoonist and artist for far south side Chicago weekly newspapers i nthe teens and 20's . His estate consisted of a small amount fo published work and a lot of sketches and fine art pieces
The latter were bought up and sold for thousands at a downtown gallery While beautiful illustrations like these were for under $100 in antique stores
Not sure if this piece dates from the earl;y depressio nyears or is an early 20's portrait of an unemployed returned WW1 soldier as it is undated
