DescriptionI saw this piece on Instagram when it was created and then was disappointed to learn it was meant for another. Happily, that person was fellow Thing fan, Grant Riddle and now it belongs to me instead :)Social/Sharing |

I saw this and thought of you. So only makes sense it ended in your collection. Great piece by a great artist

Not that Grant would be any less deserving, but this is right where it belongs. Spectacular full figure shot. Jerome is just so talented.

Saw this on the CAF update, great Thing depiction, not to rocky or craggy, and yet with a sweet athleticism. Congrats!

It’s ever lovin’ me every minute of the day, yeah
IG designs in the books, and the pictures
They give your name away, yeah
There's a dream that brings Jerome
With Ben Grimm’s best for this Riddle
It's the rocks so Four before I had to say
Please, please Yancy now
Is there some Thing by Jerome?
Is there some Thing I should say
Grant would make you come my way?
Do you feel the same 'cause you goin’ let it post?

Riddle me this: Which one of you truly appreciates this piece more? While I'm not a big fan of artists straying from the classic template look for The Thing, I can't deny that some of those different depictions are at the very least incredibly well drawn and this is one of those. So solid, so much weight to the figure, which is so important in making it feel grounded. Kudos!

The "thing" is, one of the reasons I love commissioning the character is because every artist is able to bring a little something different. I definitely have preferences but the mutable nature of Ben's appearance is fun.

Ah, well if that's the case, then yeah, he's a perfect character for you to work with and being interested in different interpretations outside of the classic template surely opens up infinite possibilities!

Gorgeous piece Chris! Proof that Jerome could draw a rock and it would be interesting, especially if that rock is attached to this awesome depiction of the Thing!
