Description

From the great Lang Campbell, the only known "Paddy Pigtail" Sunday page, 1920's vintage. This piece has also been hand-colored by the artist. Campbell is known for his work on the "Uncle Wiggly" books by Howard Garis, and the subsequent Sunday strip with the same character. He also illustrated a umber of children's books in the 1920's-30's and was an influence on many artists who later went to work for Walt Disney.

I have seen a lot of his illsutrations but only one or two of his sundays (The tearsheets are hard to find the art almost impossible) Congrats!
