It seems as though the overall piece has been darkened, but then again, that could just be a result of the scan. Would you mind showing a before and after the '07 touch up? Seeing the two side-by-side would be interesting. Thanks in advance!

The piece is very different and is indeed a lot darker but the level of detail and time spent on refining this piece is something to behold. Scans never do paintings any justice and you also get reflection off the surface of the varnish. I may try a photograph at some point. I will also try and find a scan of the original.

I love this and think it is a huge improvement on the original but i am not sure yet if i like his stance in this as much as it was originally. In the original the visible leg was his left leg and his waist was twisting around to take the swing and this was very true to the style he had drawn his anatomy in the Danzig comics. In this touched up version Simon has changed his stance so he is facing forward and the leg which was his left is now his right. Can you tell me why Simon has done this or is it just to make it less comic like and more real as the body twist in the original art is COOL and the GREAT style he used in the comics yet not as realistic as this. But anyway a huge improvement and i think i might have to sell my car and start walking just to have this on my wall. .....LOVE IT, A MASTERPIECE TURNED UBER MASTERPIECE.
