Description

A slight re-imagining by Bob Layton (who inked the original) on the cover to the issue that launched the Armor Wars saga in Iron Man some 35 years ago (1987).

I like that there is a struggle depicted on this version (against long-time foes Crimson Dynamo and Titanium Man) since Iron Man standing there alone (which, even when looking angry and menacing, never conveyed "War" to me). I also like how Bob added Stingray to this version, since he gets targeted in issue 226

So many notable villians on this! This recreation has got to be one of the more elaborate ones for Layton.
