Description

The Decepticons raid a human nuclear power plant to claim as their first Earthbound base in this artwork from the second issue of Marvel's 1984 limited series. Thanks to Paul for allowing me to add this to my Transformers collection.

Amazing that they even drew them to look like the toys and you can remember all the steps needed to change into robot form!

Frank Springer had no choice but to draw them based on the toys. Most of the animation character models were not finalized at the time! I believe Bob Budiansky said that Hasbro sent them a bunch of toys, and that's what Frank used as referances for TF #1 and 2. In TF #3, you notice the drastic shift over to the cartoon-style appearances.
