Description

OK, first off, I have to say that this painting is Damn near impossible to photograph because of all the red tones in it so I'm going to post up a couple of extra pictures showing it in different lighting until I get a real photographer to take a real picture of it that can catch the true colors. The size of this is 24x30 oil on stretched canvas and so that eliminates the use of a scanner. The next problem is attempting to identify this piece. Marcus has said that it was published in one of the 1970's Conan books, but does not remember which one and has long since let go of his copy of the book that it was in and so, if theirs any long time Conan fans out there with any of the old Grant books or Fax or any from the 70's that had his artwork, any help would be appreciated. On the back of the painting, it says "PLATE #2 , PAGE #51 WE MET THEM IN A WHIRLWIND OF STEEL, CLEAVING SKULLS, SMASHING BREASTS, HEWING LIMBS FROM THERE BODIES, AND HEADS FROM THEIR SHOULDERS...' This painting has everything I could ever hope for in a published Conan piece from a time when they were putting out some really Amazing books and so I' can finally sit back and relax with one that I hope to be the care taker of for many years to come. If you don't know who Marcus Boas is, do yourself a favor, and look him up as he's been around for quite awhile doing some really Beautiful works of art, and he's still at it.
And to a good friend that has a heart of gold, thank you for the opportunity to have this kind of history, grace my walls.

I meet Marcus every year at the Chiller Expo in NJ. Not only is he an extremely great artist, he is a great guy to talk with. I highly recommend getting a commission from him as well! Just look at this painting. That says it all....Congrats!
