DescriptionA simple - yet striking - piece by Wagner and Reinhold as an in-house ad prior to their run commencing with DD #344 (here, in the yellow costume, leading back to the traditional red one in #345, and moving away from the dreadful costume that hitherto existed). I have always loved pieces of DD with his radar sense and this is a really nice one of a full-figure DD as well. I have included a scan of the actual color ad as an additional image. Social/Sharing |

Ron Wagner did a good job on Daredevil, I think Bill Reinhold ( who I adore ) did some spectacular inks .
Simple, understated , effective .
The result is fantastic .

Many thanks, Ettore. Yes, you have described this piece perfectly. I also think that Bill Reinhold was a really fine (albeit perhaps somewhat underrated) artist.

Reborn once more from the crucible that is Daredevil's life! A classic and may be an homage to the Mazzucchelli splash in issue 232.

Killer advertising pin up!!! Awesome. I feel like I remember seeing this in a comic store or at least in another book at some point along the way but can't pinpoint exactly where. Either way, it's a really bold and effective piece and really sells the book it is advertising. Congrats !

I agree with you. Any design is better than the awful 319 redesign armour job. Always like a nice radar design use. Congrats on another gem.

Absolutely fabulous house ad! The original art to these ads is quite rare, from any era, so it's always great to see some turn up. I love the original Daredevil costume and like all other Daredevil fans, also love images showing his radar sense being used. Lovely work by both Wagner and Reinhold!

Many thanks, Rubén. This is a lovely piece indeed and caught my eye the moment I saw it. I did not want to harp on prices but this was also obtained for a very reasonable price given its quality.

Beautiful piece! I have always always loved Daredevil's radar sense, but I also have always appreciated scenes with Daredevil and fire, connecting him to the "Devil" part of his name! This one has it all! Congrats!!

Many thanks, Alberto. An excellent observation, also especially in the context of his connection to Hell's Kitchen!

Wagner was always super solid and Reinhold's inks suit his style well.
