DescriptionAs you may have noticed, this image very closely resembles the very first Hellboy cover for SEED OF DESTRUCTION #1. This piece is dated 1993 and that first issue of Hellboy was published in 1994, so I'm not sure what piece was done first. There are a few subtle differences between the two images, but the biggest bonus for me is that the logo is all hand drawn, so the whole image is original. No stats or paste-ups.I seemed to recall that this image was used for a Hellboy T-shirt, but I wasn't sure. So I asked my buddy Tim Townsend to email Mignola and ask him directly. Mike confirmed that it was indeed the artwork for the shirt. Cool. Anyway my thanks to Wayne Osborne for the trade! Social/Sharing |

One of my all time favorite Mignola Hellboy images! I prefer "old school" Hellboy to the more current style.

Ah, someone who understands where I'm coming from! I'm with you Paul. For me, the earliest Hellboy efforts were the best (or at least my favorites).

Love this bad boy!! Congrats!!!!Thanks buddy! I love it too! Especially when you consider what I gave up to get it and what I've turned down to keep it.

beautiful!Yes, I liked it very much as well. Though not being a big Hellboy fan. I would not have minded keeping it, but the offer was too big to pass up and again, the Hellboy aspect made it a bit easier to let go. Funny that it is no longer in the buyer's gallery, so I am assuming he flipped it already. Sigh!
