DescriptionThe first piece I ever sold for CRAZY money! The entire transaction made me very, VERY, nervous! The timing was great though, because I was out of work at the time and I was able to live off that money for over a year!Social/Sharing |

I remember this art was used as an ad in just about every marvel comic at one point. It's probably one of the most iconic images of that era.

Yeah, would've been nice to have hung on to this one, but the cash offer was just too damn good. Still makes the hairs on my arm tingle when I think about it.

Crazy story! and Great art too!
Ha! Thanks buddy. Just keep in mind that this was about 25 years ago I sold this. While I lived (and still live) a very simple life, it probably wasn't as much money as you might think. Can't even imagine what I could get for this today.

Its not that it was a lot of money by today's standard, but the fact that you paid for a year's rent that really struck me.

hmm, interesting that the CAF newsletter featured this from your collection today under "Prominent New Art", so I click on it to learn that you posted it 20 years ago and sold it 25 years ago for a year's worth of rent!? Crazy to think about! I'm glad I read the description/for sale status first before commenting, was about to congragulate you on an epic new pickup! ;-)

Yeah, I caught that too when I saw today's Newsletter. Was going to reach out to Bill to have it removed, but he's probably got better things to do. Not sure how these things get picked out but this is definitely NOT prominent new art. LOL! But thanks for the comment anyway. Hope you're doing well my friend.
