DescriptionIt is time to post some modern art which is no less striking or desirable than more vintage art. This is from the latest series for the Hulk which pairs the writing talents of Donny Cates with the artistic skills of Ryan Ottley (as well as, in this instance, the inking skills of Cliff Rathburn). Many thanks to Felix who has painstakingly as well as skillfully assembled most of the best artists of the modern day. This particular piece is also another example of fads and providence. When I put in an order for it, I had chosen it on the basis of its artistic impact on a personal level. I had no idea that this was probably the first appearance of the Black Hulk/Titan who is set to be unveiled in the sixth issue of this series - not until my attention was drawn to the fact that this particular issue had sky-rocketed in price as a result of this alleged first appearance. It would follow - if the rumours and speculation are true - that this particular page would be especially desirable. Perhaps I am being naive but all this seems quite irrelevant to me at least. I purchased this page from a pure collector's perspective and, in any event, once the fad passes, this page might even diminish in value! What is clear, however, is the fact that there is still some really nice artwork out there which does not cost an arm and a leg. Indeed, this is the first of several postings I plan to make of the more modern artwork in my collection. Social/Sharing |

What? There was time to choose which page you wanted on a Felix drop?
Great layout on this half splash! It makes you linger a bit more on the splash knowing a rapid succession of panels are to follow.
