DescriptionThis is a Round Robin re-Legion. My first introduction to the Silver Age Legion was a 2 part story from Adventure Comics Issue 350 and 351 reprinted in a 100 page Superboy. book It told about the expulsion of the Super-Cousins from Krypton from the Legion because a cloud of Green Krptonite had surrounded the earth. ( Yes, I know , even as a young teen, I wondered why they could not have flown an extra 2 years into the future to avoid it and still remain in the Legion, but it was a good story) The story featured the Subtitute Legion and the Legion of Super-Pets , Lightning Lad regrew his arm, Star Boy and Dream Girl were readmitted to the Legion, twice in 2 issues, Bouncing Boy got his powers back and Matter-Eater Lad even lost weight !!! . It was just so much FUN and I was hooked.Fast forward : I always found this X-Men cover striking , and it has been repeated /reworked many time over the years. So with John's help, we are re-telling "The Outcast Superheroes stories" over three covers. This is the first of them. I love the image of Superboy 9 echoing the Cyclops cover ) carrying the duffle bag, as in the (story they were given souvenirs before they left. There is so much to enjoy in this piece, the telling defeated body language of Superboy and Supergirl, the inclusion of Krypto and Streaky and the Legionnaires watch from a distance as they leave, even Ferro Lad makes the cut, in a rare cover appearance. It is just a beautiful slice of nostalgia, executed by a very gifted artist that loops around to my first Legion love story. Social/Sharing |

Shes got the cat. Hes got the dog. Forget the Legion of Losers. Well they would lose after dropping this duo...Wait a moment? A cat in a cape? A dog in a cape? I do not care if they are from Krypton. They would not wear capes. Why would they need to? Capes are stupid. I said it. Alan Moore said it in Watchmen. A heroic liability.
