DescriptionI owe a Thank You to Michael Leib & Michael Finn for pointing me in the direction of David Wachter. He is very talented . He did this whole thing in just under 2 weeks and I picked it up in person at the Baltimore Con. I highly recommend him to others seeking comissions...As for the cover itself.. This is based on the story from Superboy & the Legion of Superheroes issue 259, when Superboy leaves ( after discovering how his parents will eventually die )and the Legion gain their independent title. We modeled that after the cover of Teen Titans issue #14. Dave really captures the somber mood beautifully with wash/inks. Social/Sharing |

Great choice. This is my favorite issue of he original run. I love the Adams issues but this is such an emotional story. I thought Perez was on the mark when he used it as the basis for the Secret Origin issue that featured the Titans.

This is a great piece and it was really a pleasure to see this departure from Dave's typical ink wash style up close. Congrats!

Very powerful image---love the 'ghostly' Legionnaires looking down on Superboy. This story represented a coming-of-age for the Superboy and the Legion, and this cover encapsulates the theme perfectly. Kudos for an incredible piece by a great talent!
