DescriptionThis is a commission where art & technology and some generosity from a fellow CAF member all comes together and creates something very cool. The original cover: Atom Issue 36, features a dramatic battle between the Silver Age Atom and his Golden Age counterpart. The red background caught my eye but the clincher was that it looked as if the two heroes were exploding from the actual pages of the comic book itself. My first instinct with this cover was to go with a battle between a pair of Duo Damsels but the more I thought about it , I came to the conclusion that this cover was made for a kick butt ,Shrinking Violet Re-Legion. We set this image at the time in Legion history when Element Lad discovers that the real Shrinking Violet had been replaced by a Durlan actress named Yera. Yera had been hired by terrorists from Violet's home world Imsk but she thought it was another acting role and did not know that Violet had been kidnapped. The Violet freed from her ordeal was a very different one to the woman who was kidnapped. No longer shy and insecure , she was out to take names, kick butt and reclaim her life and her place on the team. Peter Temple did a great job on the pencils and inks. I love how he caught the moment of transformation in Yera. Chris Ivy inked and did a tremendous job. Theses guys are talented and professionals and I recommend them to anyone, although their works speaks for themselves. I owe a very big THANK YOU to Garry Goodwin. He had a great page by Keith Giffen on his CAF gallery which tied directly into the Shrinking Violet imposter storyline. I asked if we could use the page as an underlay behind the figures and without hesitation he agreed. I think it helps add a lot to a great piece. Social/Sharing |

Yep, you made the right choice in redoing this cover - both subjects and artists. Congratulations.

Great take on one of the most Dynamic Gil Kane covers of the Silver Age. I am so enjoying the Re-Legion Theme.

If there's a bigger Legion fan on the planet, I've never met him. Some truly outstanding commissions here.
