Kingdom Come Batwoman by Arthur Adams and Simon Gough

I really dug the look of the Batwoman (and her Bat-Hound, Ace) in Alex Ross and Mark Waid's Kingdom Come way back when I first saw it, but I had not thought of her in years until I was looking up different Batwomen and Batgirls for my Bat-Ladies commission late last year. Then, while looking for reference images of her, I stumbled upon this piece, which was drawn by one of my favorite artists ever, Arthur Adams. Shortly afterwards, I inquired about it being for sale and a couple of weeks later it arrived at my house, looking fantastic. I contacted Arthur about the origin of this piece and he said that he just drew it for fun, and I'm glad that he did. Batwoman looks great, and Arthur did an awesome job with her costume. Ace looks incredible as well, and his teeth look just like a dog's teeth, instead of just a row of generic pointy teeth, and I love that kind of attention to detail. Years later, I had the extremely talented Simon Gough put some colors on this piece. I love the bright colors on Batwoman, and Ace looks amazing, as well. Anyway, this is a fine addition to my collection and I thank Arthur for drawing it and Simon for coloring it!

Arthur is one of my favorite artists of all time, and this magically-surreal rendition of Batwoman exemplifies all that is right and good about Mr. Adams' remarkable talent. What a gem, Travis!
