Description

This is a panel from one of my very favorite Batman stories from the Silver Age. I can still remember buying this comic off the stands at my local Piggly Wiggly in 1966. Why only one panel you say? My guess is that when much of this original art was on the chopping block, this particular page was deliberately cut between the tiers. I don't know if this is true, but I heard that some of the art was saved from being destroyed in this manner. Too bad for many of the other pages, though. I know of at least three pages from this story still exists because I have seen them displayed in other member's gallery rooms. Perhaps they were given away as prizes for writing in to the letter's page or they were smuggled out of the DC offices by employees...who knows for sure.
