Description

Here is a splash page that I remember from my childhood. In fact...I can actually remember where I was when I first read this particular issue of Action Comics. So many of these great stories bring back fond memories from my past. I still love this Swan page...even though it wasn't inked by one of the better inkers like Anderson or Klein...simply because it is nostalgic.

Ike, a superb Swan Superman splash from a great comic! The cover of this comic was always one of my favorites! George Roussos did some great work over Swan, and this is a great example! I know the "Mob" on the Facebook Swan page trashes George's inks over Swan (one of the reasons I left the group); but I think George inked some great and very memorable issues!

Contrary to popular belief, I really like inkers such as Roussos and Abel over Swan's pencils. They may not be Murphy Anderson, but they are still very good at their craft...and I have great respect for their work. Besides that...it's absolutely nostalgic!

Growing up Curt Swan was the definitive Superman artist. Great splash!

I want to know why these days they dont draw comics like in the 70's and 80's the old way of drawing comics was allot better then now
