Description

I don't if other artists don't take the take or don't do as well when inking their own work (and I DO understand that those are two different skill sets), but I just LOVE pieces of comic art that are penciled and inked by the same artist. It seems to me that it is a more complete reflection of what the artist wants to convey. So this gem is by the masterful Tom Mandrake from his run on the SPECTRE. I have always felt that Mandrake's art had the same feeling as the art created by Gene Colan...which is a pretty GOOD feeling in my book. The ole' spirit of vengeance is digging into Jim Corrigan's past. I'm pretty old school so I liked it when Corrigan and the Spectre were tied together. Maybe they played it all out but that was such a wonderful concept.
