Description

"Salty" is a strip by Fran Matera that never saw wide distribution, only being syndicated through a small syndicate, The Cartoon Factory, Ltd., which operated for less than a year, servicing mostly weekly newspapers.

I particularly like this one, since it was significantly reworked, as can be seen in the published version. The original punchline was "The lookout's spyglass!", but it was changed to the line about binoculars and the art in panel 1 was reworked to match. Maybe Matera was still trying to sell the strip again and did some adjustments.

Neat.
