Description

Named for the beautiful four-eyed butterfly fish concentrated in the Indo-Pacific Ocean region and known for it's uncanny ability for swimming in and around coral heads and reefs finding its way through the most intricate passages by swimming on its side or upside down. - One of the most highly decorated ships of the World War 2 Pacific Submarine Force, she made six war patrols, earning five battle stars and two Presidential Unit Citation awards. Commander Lawson P. Ramage also was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for stealthily attacking from the middle of a convoy, on the surface at night. - Insigne designed in the Winter of 1944. - I was again very lucky to obtain both the painting and drawing also shown in this gallery after so many years between. Anyone with Disney designed combat insignia please contact me if you would part with your holding.
