Description

This is one of two sequential pages from the same comic book, and I just love adding sequential pages to my collection. I doubt I'll ever acquire a complete issue, but it's certainly a dream for just about any collector of original comic art.

Of the two pages I picked up in this deal, this is the better one, as it depicts the titular hero (albeit in beat-down poses). Like so many vintage pages, this one features blue-pencil editing notes, whiteout corrections and lettering right on the board. I prefer to see as much of the process on the page as possible, and that's why I prefer older pages.

As for the art itself, this issue marked Alan Kupperberg's first as Rafael Kayanan's regular inker. I think Kupperberg's inks tend to overpower Kayanan's pencilling style, but given that Kupperberg's also a penciller by trade (at least at the time), it's not entirely surprising.
