Ultra Boy by Derec Donovan

One of the first Legion stories I ever read had Ultra Boy's body being inhabited by John Dillinger's mind. It was pretty crazy and also had Superboy and Mon-El's bodies being taken over by Hitler and Emperor Nero's minds. Those crazy Silver Age stories quickly made a Legion fan out of me. Ultra Boy, along with Superboy and Mon-El, were the three most powerful members of the Legion of Super-Heroes, but Jo Nah had a limitation in that he could only use one power at a time, which I thought was cool. Some creators have used this limitation pretty creatively, having him switch powers quickly to accomplish amazing things. Jo has been a solid member of the Legion for almost their entire existence, as well as having one of the most stable relationships in the team with Phantom Girl. Anyway, I've really dug the character since I first saw him, and I asked Derec to draw him in his classic costume here. Derec delivered a clean cut, powerful-looking Jo Nah here, poised for battle. And look at that groovy space background! Derec continues to deliver some awesome Legion commissions, and I couldn't be any happier with this one.
