Description

During the late 1940's and early 1950's Win Mortimer was DC's premier cover artist. He also drew stories for Superman, Batman, World's Finest, Robin and a host of others including taking over the Superman daily strip from Wayne Boring in 1949 and continued for over 6 years.

In 1955, Kellogg's Sugar Smacks licensed the Superman character for three comics to be given away in their cereal. They were each 32-pages of a single tier (like a daily strip) printed on newsprint 6 7/8" x 3 1/8 ". They are pretty rare to find. The stories were "Superman Time Capsule", "The Supershow of Metropolis!" and "Duel in Space!"

The pages here are all from The Superman Time Capsule, done three to a page on twice up DC art board. Rare examples of a hard-to-find comic.

One thing about this page... the third panel was water colored. Not sure if Win did it or someone else did that. If anyone has an idea let me know!
