Description

This is a charcoal sketch by the King of Horror Art, Basil Gogos. Most known for his cover art for "Famous Monsters of Filmland" magazine from the late 1950s through 1970s, Basil had a rebirth of interest in his horror art in the 1990s when the publishers of the now defunct, "Monsterscene" commissioned him. That started a rebirth of popularity with the various Monster Kids who grew up with "Famous Monsters".

While known for his use of a rainbow of colors in his paintings, Basil also has a unique style with his charcoal sketches as shown with this drawing.

The sketch measures 26" x 20" and although completed sometime in the 2005 to 2010 timeframe, it lacks the year of completion.
