DescriptionSuch an amazing artist! Jose Luis Salinas was one of the greatest of the adventure strip artists. His work moves with a graceful fluidity that carries the viewer along for a ride. The art in my collection is from 1951. Wonderful details abound throughout the run of this beautiful strip. every time I see Cisco's shirt,I'm amazed at the time Salinas must have taken to capture that embroidered design. Strip after strip, it is there in all it's beauty. Salinas rightfully deserves his acclaim as a master of the medium. I would love to see a comprehensive collection of his work.Social/Sharing |

Jim, a comprehensive collection of his work is already in the works. Classic Comics Press is planning on collecting the entire series, in 8 volumes. The first volume is available already and volume 2 is scheduled to be on sale in mid January 2015!

I did pick up the first volume of the Classic Comics Press Cisco, but had thought it might be only a one shot. Great to hear that the entire series will be reprinted. A lot of great art to look forward to!

The horror stories concerning strip art, and just how little it was valued, of yesteryear, is enough to haunt we art lovers forever! Fosters used to dry damp floors. Eisners used as packing for printing plates. Examples of a true haunted house for those who appreciate the masters of this medium.
