DescriptionSeen here is a DPS from Uncanny X-men #383, introducing the evil AoA X-babies. The issue explained that they had taken over the Mojoverse and killed the former X-man Longshot, and now a rag tag group of X-Men have arrived in the Mojoverse to stop them. Kinda. The villains looked like child versions of the main AoA villains and had been part of a Mojo production of an AoA mini-series he'd produced before they rebelled. This is the only time these characters ever appeared. They were due to be part of a major storyline which would have taken place during and after the “Eve of Destruction” storyline, and they would have served as the storyline's Big Bads. It would have featured the X-Men trying to stop these AoA-Babies, explained what happen to Longshot and presumably restore the Mojoverse to status quo. Unfortunately, this storyline was rejected when Grant Morrison signed onto the title and replaced Scott Lobdell as writer. He took the title in a different direction and this brief appearance of the AoA-Babies is the only reference to this proposed storyline concept. Longshot has since returned with no mention of having died or of the Mojoverse takeover. As such, this entire event has been retconned out of existence, and the AoA-Babies will most likely never appear again, at least in this form. But as a collector of anything Age of Apocalypse, that just makes this page all the sweeter to finally have, since it's their one and only appearance. HUGE thanks go to Dave Wilber for finally taking pity on me and letting this grail go. :- ) Social/Sharing |

Congrats on this gem! I always said that if/when it was time, there was nobody else I wanted it to end up with but you. I miss it, but I know it couldn't have found a better new home!!!

Ahh the joys of retcons and retconning out of existence at that.. Still a great page of art that shows what could have been. Nice pick up and addition.
