Description

This piece by Christopher Jones and Mark Stegbauer was done for a charity auction at a convention in Milwaukee, WI in 1997. The bidding came down to me and the original owner of Collector's Edge Comics, Jef ("the second f is silent") Parker. At the time the bidding became too much for me and Mr. Parker won the auction. I was a customer at Collector's Edge I would see Mr. Parker from time to time. Once in a while I would ask if he was interested in selling it. He would always think about it but ultimately say no.

Unfortunately Mr. Parker became ill, had to sell the business, and eventually passed away from his illness. I have continued as a customer at Collector's Edge and for many years was a contributor to their fanzine, The Edge. During one of their New Year's sales or during a fanzine meeting I came across the this piece again and current owner, Steve Dobryzynski, was kind enough to sell it to me. It is my great reminder of the good times at Collector's Edge, the Edge fanzines we worked on and the friends I made there.
