Description

I've always liked the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe illustrations that were done by the artists most associated with the characters, at least at the time--and this Wolverine illustration fits the bill, nicely representing Smith's short but beautiful run on the X-Men in the early 80s. The thing that really sold me on this piece was its size--he drew the figure to fill up nearly the entire art-board.

SO cool. Paul Smith draws the perfect Wolverine- with claws that look like they could actually retract into his forearms! Great great score- this was also used in the 80's marvel Roleplaying game.
