DescriptionAge of Apocalypse is one of my favorite storylines from the X-Men series and I knew I wanted to get a killer piece featuring that specific version of the X-Men characters at some point in my collection. After seeing Robson Rocha's art at DC over the past couple years I decided he would be the perfect fit for the type of celebration of Age of Apocalypse that I had in mind. I asked Robson to do a double page spread for Age of Apocalypse as if he was designing one of those old and gigantic hand drawn movie posters in the quad-style, ala those awesome square-shaped posters for the original Star Wars trilogy. The result was beyond my expectations, which were already very high. I knew I wanted to finish the 'poster' by commissioning James Pascoe to create an authentic replica of the title and logo from the original series, and the room that Robson left in the bottom right hand corner of the piece gave James the space he needed to finish this work off in grand style.Social/Sharing |

I just wanted to add that this piece was arranged via Chiaroscuro, the art rep group. I spoke directly and often with Ivan Costa, the man in charge of arranging commissions, and he was always helpful. The process took about three weeks to complete and it was a great business transaction. So good that I've ordered some more commissions from Chiaroscuro!

Ivan was wonderful to work with. I got my Rocha piece done through Chiaroscuro, as well. :)

Great commission. Subtler use of colors makes a great effect!
