DescriptionSuperman: Day Of Doom #2 January 2003"Superman's Death" pg 19 Inks over pencil on DC Comics Vertigo Wild Storm Interiors board Pencils and Writer: Dan Jurgens (Signed lower right) Inks: Bill Sienkiewicz Letters: John Workman So I'm at CT Comic Con and Im pulling out all this Dan Jurgens art and books to get signed and he has a portfolio and a loose stack of art. He says anything in the stack $40, I can't wait to look. After the guy before me buys a great Batman LODK page, I was extremely eager. The majority of the stack is Flash and Teen Titans but on the very bottom was this. Never in my wildest imagination would I expect to be able to buy a Sienkiewicz page for this price. I was only a couple hours into the day and I didn't think it could get any better, but I hadn't run into Walt Simonson yet. Superman: Day of Doom is a comic book miniseries which is something of a followup to The Death of Superman. It follows Clark Kent and Lois Lane on assignment to cover the public's feelings about the death and return of Superman, as a villain tries to strike out against the hero as revenge for Doomsday's killings. Doomsday is mentioned extensively, and appears in flashbacks, but doesn't appear at all in the main story, despite the cover. A 4-issue miniseries revisiting the behemoth who killed the Man of Steel! On the anniversary of Superman's death, someone is following Doomsday's cross-country path...and murdering people along the way! Part 2 of the 4-part weekly event! The Planet's new reporter continues his interviews concerning the day Doomsday killed Superman, this time widening his subjects to the ordinary civilians who were there that day and the horrors they saw. It wasn't just Superman who died that day. Duffy also interviews Oswald Loomis The Prankster, Toyman, Killgrave, and other lower-tier villains who tried to take credit for that day's tragedy. Meanwhile, Superman continues to investigate more mysterious accidents, as the clues to an emerging threat become clearer. The Toy Man is playing with two Doomsday action figures, one with a Superman balloon just like on the cover. Social/Sharing |
