Description

An August 2015 purchase from the creator - artist Donald W. Schank himself - A portrait of Carole Landis as the Cave Girl from the 1940 version of One Million BC. A pencil and white pastel drawing on Bee Stipple paper -- like old coquille papers, it has a pattern embossed into the surface of the paper. Originally it was created to allow a half-tone look to published illustrations without going to the expense of creating an actual half-tone plate. On a board 11" x 13 1/2" with an image area of 10" x 12".

When Donald posted a scan of this original on Facebook he got a nice remark from Wendi Pini - "May I complement you highly on this? I adore this film - superior in many ways to the Raquel Welch version (which I also adore). You captured Carole Landis' wild-haired glamour beautifully."

An un-cropped version of the portrait as well as a photo upon which this portrait were based are included as additional images.
