Description

This is a fine daily from early in the Simon Ware story. For a comic strip about a model, there are very few examples involving modeling. Carol had been scouting a location shoot with Australian photographer and future fiance Joe Wilson--they had the feeling that they're being watched, and returned that night to find out. There is some fine work in this daily. The middle panel features a strong nocturnal snow scene with a mysterious figure scaling a wall, the other two feature Carol and Joe. All panels are full of dense rendering and cross hatching. As with all Carol Days, this art is drawn on illustration board. This is in the second half of in the feature's run, so the logo is a paste up. There are impact dents in all 4 corners and white out use in the art, as well as some minor smudging in the borders.

That middle panel is so mysterious. Such a good example of Wright's ability to create mood.
