DescriptionOriginal Art Page for American Flagg! #49, published by First Comics in 1988. This is Page 26 from the issue, and is a truly awesome end page that is a huge full page splash! It is done on official First Comics illustration art board which measures approximately 11" by 17". Please note the "I'm An American, Mr. President -- And This Time The Revolution Will Be Televised!" word bubbles at the top are pasted on. The text piece at the bottom which says "NEXT: The concluding chapter of the first volume of American Flagg! by Howard Chaykin and Mike Vosburg" is also pasted on. Please also note that they did some cutting and pasting with the art at the bottom, as it looks like they wanted to reposition the hand and arm (you can see what looks like the original outline underneath, which is very cool). So the left arm and hand look to be drawn pieces that are pasted on, along with some heavy use of whiteout around the President's head. A truly outstanding and memorable page from the classic 1980's series.Social/Sharing |
