DescriptionThis is the second page that I own from this story, and it's one of my favorite stand alone stories that Gaiman has written. Greg Burgas from CBR put it best when he said, "Somehow, in one issue, Gaiman manages to write a horror story, a love story, an indictment of our indifference to the homeless, a sad commentary on the realities of relationships, and a character study of a man with no hope." The only thing he left out is Dave McKean. I don't think any artist could have told this story better.Social/Sharing |

How wonderful. The dense linework causing the haunting space in the eyes for that 3rd panel especially... lovely work.

I love how McKean gets the page to flow with Constantine's appearance growing progressively more expressionistic in the first three panels, leading to the larger and highly detailed closeup of the homeless ghost in the fourth panel before finally dissolving into a set of pleading eyes. This is a wonderful page.

This page (and comic) are truly beautiful, heartfelt congrats on your acquisition. I hope to get a page from this or indeed Arkham Asylum in the near future.
