Description

John Prentice stepped into the opportunity of a life time having to fill in after Alex Raymond's unexpected passing. He was told to draw like Raymond and indeed he did that better than anyone else could have. This is an early example of Prentices work on the strip, from his first 2 years. I liked it because it looked so much like a Raymond in style, layouts and aesthetics. Later, Prentice would start to add more his own style to the strip but examples like this remind us of just how good Prentice could do Raymond.
