Description

Nice action page from the classic (and definitely weird) Nebulon and Head-Men storyline from the Defenders. Gerber was pushing the envelope at that time, with absurd, convoluted plots, uncertain heroes and social satire. The Defenders was the "off" title within the Marvel stable of characters.

The page features all the Defenders roster at that time in a strong action sequence. Nice finishes by Mooney over the always reliable Buscema layouts.

Ah, that wonderful page. How typical of the Defenders as well, in managing to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. My first Defenders issue, and still a thing of wonder.
