DescriptionThis is something really rare. But of you are reading this you probably already know that. This piece of note book paper features a gag for Gottfredsons never made daily strip "Mark O'Polo". Inspired by E.C. Segars "Popeye", Milt' Caniffs "Steve Canyon", Roy Cranes "Wash Tubbs" and of course Mickey Mouse this was what he planned to do after retiering from Disney.Gottfredson wrote hundreds and hundreds of these notes outlining plot ideas, gags and descriptions of the characters. This one featuring the genius nephew and his babysitter. Some sheets with unused Mickeys that he planned to use for his new strip was also in the lot. But this project was never to be finished. After he passed away all of this was thrown in the trash. But was rescued and saved by a neighbour. Some sketches have surfaced but I still have only seen just a handful of them. There are bound to be much more around. Anyone got any? These notes should of course be typed and made available for all of his fans. Some day I'll get around to do that. Gottfredson deserves that.
