Showing how little pulp art was valued back in the day, last year a friend of mine and I bought two Norman Saunders sports pulp covers, with each of us keeping one. This is the one that I got from the deal. It's the cover for Best Sports, February 1950. Probably back in the 1950's or 1960's, both paintings were framed in matching frames. The frames were very cheap, and a lot smaller than the actual cover art (which was on board). So both paintings were cut down to fit the frames. On the plus side, at least both paintings survived, even if not entirely intact.
