Kobolds are my favorite Dungeons and Dragons enemy and PC race because they're the perpetual underdogs. My favorite version is D&D 3.5 - the original D&D/AD&D 1/2 are too dog-like and D&D 5.0 is too badass to be underwhelming. I've been wanting a nice Kobold commission since I started my sketchbook and finally decided to make it happen.

I gave Mark a vague outline of what I wanted - 3.5e kobolds doing something kobold-y like setting an ambush - and let him run with it. He posted the rough and inked version as he progressed on Twitter (follow him @InkerMark), so it was really cool to see how the piece evolved.

In general, I really like it. The composition and ink outline are spot on and in general the colors are good. The color in the top half of the trees feels really rushed and takes away from the quality of the rest of the piece, but on the whole I'm happy with it.
