Description

Angel had been trying to raise some money to various things and was selling a number of pin ups. I'd bought a collection of various Crusaders he'd done and ... the package went MIA. It seems Angel mixed up my order with someone else's. So somewhere out there is someone with a sweet collection of Crusaders' pin ups :) Angel had said he would get things sorted but, unfortunately, he passed before things could get worked out.

While I originally didn't know what to do with these I was looking at them recently and realized there was some cool stuff going on here. Kirby may have been Angel's normal muse but there's a nice sense of Joe Kubert in this Spectre. Reminds me a lot of his later renditions of Hawkman. Angel sneaking in a little something new in the style :)

And then there was color! Radical Rob Shalda showed up and brought the 70's with him and now there's a wonderful color version of the ~sinister Spectre~!

I know how much you like Crusaders Kevin, but honestly, if there was ever a cool mix-up this is it! Angel does a mean Spectre here! Nice!!

That's quite a story behind this pinup. Not familiar with the artist, may he rest in peace. Great depiction of The Spectre, beautifully colored by Rob!
