Description

The titular hero, in his civilian identity of Capt. Nathaniel Adam, is pursued by an assassin known as the Cambodian. So no characters in recognizable costumes here, but this board boasts some dramatic action poses among its panels. The floating feet on discs in the final panel promises even more colorful super-hero action.

It's not the most exciting board, but I picked it up in a package deal after winning another Broderick page from Captain Atom on eBay. I was thrilled with the deal. I'm always looking to add budget boards to my collection. (Three other Capt. Atom pages picked up in this deal can be found in my JLA gallery).

I also can't resist vintage boards. The lettering is pasted onto this board, and it boasts editing marks in blue pencil and additional paste-ons for corrections in the word balloons. Another delicious detail is the lined Zip-a-Tone used in the first panel to convey shadowing on Adam's face.

The board is signed by Broderick in pencil on the reverse, and while the board is labelled as Page 18 in the lower right corner of the last panel, another mark at the top right corner of the page indicates it was the 24th page in the final printed comic, with ads.
