DescriptionIt has taken me a long time to find one that I actually managed to get, but I finally have a BWS Valiant page, and from the legendary original Unity event no less! Unity was the company wide crossover that Valiant did in their early days that really grabbed the industry by the horns! Unity #0 was the 1st chapter and Unity #1 tied it off as Chapter 18. Each of the issues were free if you bought the other titles, and only 16 pages each. Barry Windsor Smith drew both issues as well as Archer & Armstrong for the crossover. This is one of the few pages of those that was penciled and inked by Barry Windsor Smith himself, as Bob Layton inked most of the Unity pages. Unlike most Valiant pages of the time, this page is bright white and not all yellow from the glue stains. It is signed in the 1st panel with the ubiquitous BWS and signed in his full signature at the bottom panel. At the top of the page it says "BWS inks" and on the back it says "BWS pencils inks" so you know Barry really wanted everyone to know he did it all lol. But seriously, such a great page with Archer & Armstrong, Solar, Magnus, and Prince Albert (the horrible son of the villain Mother God).Social/Sharing |

Wow! A BWS Unity page is as good it gets for us Valiant fans. Congrats!!!

excellent, dave! congratulations. valiant was certainly full of great art and stories early on and this was the apex of that.
