DescriptionThis 20" x 15" original concept drawing was made by Industrial Light & Magic for the production of Ghostbusters II (1989).After all of her partying on New Year's, the Statue of Liberty rests in an alleyway with her arm around a liquor-bottle-shaped billboard. The Ghostbusters harvest the power of "Mood Slime" with their Slime Blowers and are able to move the famous landmark through the streets of New York City with the help of a modified NES Advantage controller and a Sony Walkman that blasts the classic Motown song "Higher and Higher." The piece is actually based on the first draft of the Ghostbusters II script, in which Vigo possesses the statue and uses it to terrorize the city. When the Ghostbusters finally defeat him, Lady Liberty crashes and behaves in a rather unladylike fashion. Social/Sharing |
